Governor Greg Abbott announced a grant of $1,272,322 awarded to Tarrant County College (TCC) to support workforce training for local employees. The funding, provided by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), aims to assist more than 630 employees of Cummings Electrical in developing skills for high-demand occupations within the electrical contracting field.

The grant will offer customized training opportunities focused on upskilling both new and existing workers. Governor Abbott emphasized the importance of such programs in preparing Texans for careers in high-demand industries.

TWC Chairman Bryan Daniel, who presented the award at a ceremony held at TCC’s Opportunity Center in Fort Worth, highlighted the role of the Skills Development Fund in ensuring the Texas workforce is equipped to fill these vital positions.

This collaboration between Tarrant County College and the Texas Workforce Commission aims to enhance job training and promote employment in the region.
